ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT IN BANKING BUSINESS (RM/2024/BOAZ/01)

The Need For This Course

Every banking activity is fraught with uncertainty, vulnerabilities and possibility of unfavorable outcome or danger resulting in loss of value if crystallized.

The risks that face banking business are numerous. They include Credit risk, Market risk, Operational risk, Strategic risk, Liquidity risk, Reputational risk, Interest rate risk, External risks etc.

Managing each of the above risks on “silos” basis may not absolve a bank from loss of value due to risk crystallization because the risks have a way of collaborating with one another. Risks present both danger and opportunities and they are phenomena that a bank cannot do without. The danger elements of risks are managed while the inherent opportunities are seized and exploited. Enterprise Risk Management enables a banking institution to seize the opportunities inherent in risk taking and prevent the possible danger therein.

Our five-day Enterprise Risk Management Framework Training will build the capacity of the participants in risk management generally and enterprise-wide risk management in general.
